Oh, so sorry to hear about Boober. You will remember the happy times soon. They'll just gradually mix in with the ones of the loss and eventually the bad ones drop off.
Hope your kids are taking this okay.

It's all done. Shoveling dirt over the face of an old friend is something I hate having to do, and every time I look over at his favorite curling-up spot on the bed I feel a huge emptiness.

It's good to know that he's not suffering now, but I think it will be a long time before I can try to remember the happy times.

Pepper was always our favorite cat, but my own memories are mainly of Boober, and I know that I'll be glad I have them - eventually.

Damn. I just remembered that this is the weekend. I'm awfully sorry. You all take care. We're thinkin' of ya.

Oh my. Our Fellini lived to that age, but it sounds like Boober has done it more gracefully up until this point. Her last couple of years were difficult.

My thoughts are with you all.

We hate cats, and losing her almost flattened us. Damn cats. They do that to you, you know. That's because they're evil. They act all catty and make you love them anyway, just so you'll hurt when they're gone.

Damn cats.

Now I'm upset about the next step, of course. We can't let him stay the way it is, but it feels like such a betrayal. Next weekend is going to be every bit as rough as the last was.

I'm sorry to hear about Boober. I know how hard it is to say goodbye, and I hate it, too. It's a shame they can't be with us longer. Of course you're "crying over one silly old mog." Turning 50 doesn't take away your humanity, does it?
